WRC 2007 season finale!

WRC SEASON 2007

The Subaru World Rally last won the drivers’ championship in 2003 with Petter Solberg taking top honours by a single point from Sebastien Loeb.

The 2007 season would however prove to be another tough season for the squad with Solberg and Chris Atkinson securing fifth position and seventh position in the championship respectively.

The final event of the season, Rally Wales GB, did however see the team move ahead of rivals Stobart Ford and secure third position overall in the manufacturers’ championship.

"It’s good for the team to have retaken third place in the Manufacturers’ Championship this weekend, and to have finished with all three cars in the top ten," stated Subaru World Rally Team Managing Director Richard Taylor.

The team admit it has been a tough season but vow to bounce back next season with an all new package.

"Overall it’s been a difficult year for the team," Taylor continued, "but we are very positive that the development of our new car that will appear during 2008 will once again deliver the results that Subaru supporters and our drivers have come to expect."
