2008 Impreza gets another 100HP from Prodrive
Rally and sports car specialist Prodrive will turn its tuning talents once again to Subaru’s Impreza range next year. The hottest version of the new Impreza, the WRX STi, is due to arrive next March with 297bhp under its bonnet. Prodrive’s performance pack should add around another 100bhp to that. Like previous Prodrive Impreza specials, the upgrades are carried out in the UK after the car has been registered, yet it still benefits from Subaru’s own three-year warranty.
Prodrive is also working on a range of performance accessories for the new Impreza, including upgraded brakes. Unlike the old model, the new Impreza is only available as a five-door hatchback. It’s part of Subaru’s plans for the car to be seen as a more usable alternative to budget performance cars. However, at £25,000, the new STi will cost less than the outgoing model and feature more kit.
At the other end of the Subaru scale, whispers have reached us that next year’s new Justy supermini, based on the excellent Daihatsu Sirion, will be the first Subaru to come with a five-year warranty.

It wont make a jot of difference to me. It is a hatch and and ugly, so unless they bring us an STI version of the saloon the USA is getting I will be looking to buy a 2007 Litchfield Type-25 (still faster than this too) which will probably be the last Impreza I ever own, sadly.
STI is not about exterior, - it is about speed.

The 2008 Impreza looks fast and impressive.
it may not be about the exterior but it really affects the urge of others to have one of those. anyway, by adding 100hp more, could it now compete against the evo x or even on a gt-r in terms of speed? just wondering..
the subaru sti is a machine is not a jaguar or a mercedess klasse . Ok may be is not the best look but if you see it as a machine is perfect only the sti and evo x are cars for every use and some people they didnt like that change because they used to see the saloon version. believe me the new subaru is ugly but if you see it in the sti version is a beauty
