Rumor: 2008 Subaru Impreza STi to debut in September at Frankfurt Autoshow
“Where’s the bee, er STi? From the sources I have spoken with; a large reason, if not in fact the main one for the hatchback, is that in order for Subaru to be more competitive in the WRC, they needed a more nimble car. I think the new look is growing on me and I am very hopeful the STi is somewhat more agressive in its’ styling.”
“I’m guessing wheel arches, aggressive bodykit, spoiler. Fundamentally the same engine and transmission hidden in a press release full of three letter acronyms and talk of electronic goodness that is really just traction and differential control.
The interior will be as per WRX with maybe a couple of gauges better integrated than the ’stuck on the steering column’ tragedy and faux carbon fibre, aluminum trim. Funky seats of course.
Oh, and an ‘engine start’ button.”
It will debut in September at the Frankfurt Autoshow

I heard via ConsumerGuide Automotive that the 08 STI is rumored to have 330hp. Anyone else confirm?
If it gets the benefits of the Type R-AR, I will be very interested, regardless of the ugly hatch.
