Eh… I find it so-so, but I’ve never been thrilled with how any Subaru looks, going back beyond the SVX. Although in my advancing age, I do have a soft spot for the current Legacy wagon.

As long at the STi comes in a 4-door model, I’m happy.

Looks absolutely rubbish!. All these years and Subaru can’t come up with a timeless design. The 2008 concept has dated already before release and it looks like crap!.

PS: Hope the final version for 2008 is much better than the rubbish photos so far, ‘cos a subie sti has been on my shopping list….but won’t buy one until they fix up the awful design. :oP

The curves are so soft on this car…. I dont like it…. Trust me I love Subies but I hope they re consider this efore release… It sure doesnt look as mean as mine (2000RS) . It looks ok , dont get me wrong, and Im sure that the mechanics are good…. But they need to reconsider the evolution of their body styles

If they give us a true sequential, paddle shifted tranny, I’d be all for that!!! Are you kidding me? No lift shifting from the factory, that’d be fantastic. Let’s just hope it doesn’t cost an arm and a leg and that it’s a TRUE paddle shifted trans, not this auto-manual crap.

If this is the case, I’ll let my 04 STI sit in the garage for a while, so i can trade it in. Looks aggresive but with very smooth flowing lines. I think this 08 model might of spent alot of time in the wind tunnel. Now if only Subaru would sell a WRC version of their STI models like the one pictured above, then I’d give my right arm….damn what would i use to shift with?

Ohh… my goodness!! I hope Subaru did not pay a lot of of money to the chief design head bossman? I am a die hard impreza fun! And SUBARU can only do this much??? Ohrck… They are just killing me with disapppppppointments since 2002 desings! BRING BACK THE SIGNITURE BIG ROUND FUG LIGHTS AND THE SIDE HOOD VENTS, DAHH! And the next model sould come with a motor oil & trans fluid cooler. I wish that Subaru should start back at the last gc8 design style and make the little roundish, sharky look for the next future design ASAP. Because the new EVO 2008 design kicked the Impreza 2008 design by a mile. Subaru need to learn from what FORD did for the Mustang, Ford did a design contest and out of that contest, Ford used some of the design model ideas from the winners of the design contest. The modern retro design is one of the fomula that most of the design contestants made clear. And Ford now understands what the people wanted.
Hey! SUBARU! You have a good thing going with the IMPREZA, but you just keep on shooting yourselve on your own foot with a half job goodness when it comes with the final design of the car. These things got to stop. Because have you all seen what Mitsu did with the Eclipes…. That looks of that car alone just wants you to buy one.

i think subaru went and grew a vagina because now the lines in this car are smoother than a smoothie. seriously what happened to the nice aggresive look. thats what the original wrx was when they had a penis. an impreza was made for the rally not for picking up chicks. and who ever said they should twin turbo it shouldnt post here. they should go post on an srt4 blog because subaru would never do that. its retarded. if anything they should come with anti turbo lag. im very disappointed with the look of this car.

they look awesome, i agree with the above message they should make a limited edition twin turbo sti, that aside i look forward to 2008 when these hopfully come out and purchasing one.

get i through your head a twin turbo wrx would never exsist. its made for the rally circuit. twin turbo would be terrible for rallying. i would take to long to spool up. in rallying you never open your car up completely so thats why they use a single turbo so it spools up much quicker.

it is true that in rallying you don’t open up full throttle most of the time, but you are wrong on the turbo thing. single turbo actually takes more time to spin up. twin turbo is 2 smaller turbine than a bigger single turbine. when you press on the gas, the twin turbo will be faster to response since it is smaller and lighter than single turbo and spin up faster. that’s why you see the GT cars they use twin turbo instead of single turbo. in rallying, they overcome the turbo lag by anti-lag system but the road going car doesn’t have the system so twin turbo will give the car a better response time.

i don’t know why people think this thing look nice.. not that i don’t like subaru, i’m drivin sti 05 too…. but since the 06 come out… i almost cry everyday from it look…. disapointed…

The Impreza is starting to look too pretty. Before you know it, the WRX is going to turn into the Audi A4. I’ve owned the same 99 Impreza RS 2.5 for the last 5 years and I still like that design the best. But, I still love driving my 06 STi.

I am a loyal owner and have owned 12 Subies.. including 2 impreza’s and a legacy wagon… They kick azz and no one can convince me otherwise.. This car will follow suit I am sure.. I do however hope they make some serious re-considerations on the body style tho

I think we all need to take a step back and think about this for a moment.

As a fan of the MY06/7 Impreza, even the controversial grill, I think this concept is a beautiful, modern interpretation.

But it’s just a concept.

Subaru have been releasing similar concepts for years, via the PS2 WRC games.

There have also been recent statements from regional Subaru headquarters, assumedly from the main office in Japan, that the MY08 will not have the aircraft grill and be based loosely on the Legacy/Liberty chassis. This concept has the MY06 grill and is based on the same chassis with only new bodywork. It also draws heavy on the MY03/4/5 Impreza with the larger scoop, gone in 06, and front spoiler.

From someone who works in PR, this is just a teaser to get everyone talking about the new Impreza, and it’s working very well.

This concept is beautiful, but I think the MY08 Impreza will be even more stunning.

Well it looks like the one I saw earlier but this is just not a Hatch. I’m getting a feeling that they will make Sedan version and a Hatch version.

I love the STi - but the 08 looks more like a Tiburon than an Impreza. I hope the actual car is meaner than the concept. Bring back the 04 - 05 look.

Not to cuss at subbie, but the 3-part grill looks disgusting. Probably because I’m an art freak, everything must be parallel/corresponding. 3-part grills always look wack. I’ve always loved the WRX series (STi), but they seriously got to lay off the boxy shape concerning the body. Subbie can do better than this.. or so help me I’ll buy the car and rip the body to put the old body onto it. I liked the 01-03 look.. big lights in the front (not circle); a very aggressive look. Simplify the damn cars.. a brilliant machine like the STi ain’t have to be extra..

Anyone realize that this is a complete photoshop. No STI will look like this for 2008. Have you all looked at the new Impreza WRX for 2008. The frount end and new grill look nothing like this photoshop impression. It is completely different. AS the WRX and STI always look similar, it will be totally different. Check out the pics from the New York Autoshow 2007 at Car and Driver web site to see what it looks like. And by the way, I think the new WRX body style sucks. I will be getting the 2007 model quickly before they come out with this new piece.

I am one of the greatest Subaru fan anyone could ever find…i love subaru in general…but i go more for the impressas..and ive been following up on em each year….no ive noticed a trend…after the 2004 wrx sti…the look went more from sporty,hip and sexy..to casual luxury……now you cant do that…….the looks are like going down…they dont look aggresive anymore….but this is where i end da bad news……..the good news now…..I LOVE THE 2008 WRX(rally version)(no disrespect to the designer of the American version..but im talking the japanese version))….OMG….at one point i was being let down by subaru..but this come back it good…i love it…keep it up…and just one suggestion…try and keep the traditional kaminari race wing and the tail lights…they look really good together…not to mention the traditional exhaust sound…niiiice….like the work,keep it up…and i must drive and own one in the future..

i’m damn angry with all those say subaru is rubbish….i like subaru since the 97 GC8 and 22B. That is my only favourite!! Especially the 2 doors model. I’m so dissapointed new STi dun produce 2 doors edition since 2001. Anyway the 2008 STi still ok, but 2 doors and lower chassis height will be better. Lower chassis makes the car more aggressive.

I own an sti and I can say that it is the fastest thing Ive ever driven ever.And so long as the new sti is Sick Fast we will all love it.No matter if its missing doors and a roof.Go scoob

subaru has been ma best car since i was 4 years of age and 10 years from then I still love it even now that im 14 but this is an outstanding car with an outstanding team.

Firsty of all this is not how it will look at all,secondly the light look to much like a 350Z and thirdly it would be sick if it looked like that but I think now I will go get an 07 sti. I had an impreza which I was going to buy the AVO turbo for but nevermind that 07 STI here I come. It just looks more rally enspired ..07 that is with the fender flares front wind Dams. I think you all will be dissapointed(who cares if its lighter just upgrade for performance)

So this design is a possibility… As for people saying the front fascia doesn’t add up, I would hope it’s not anything like the new WRX model… The WRX model would require you to buy a new front fascia if you wanted a front mount intercooler and Subaru better expect people to be modding their STIs…
