i think that this is a big topic,
i updated my font end on my my 94 wrx and got all my99-00 parts for it / 2x front fenders, front bar and bonnet all aftertmaket OEM parts and all bullshit rubbish,

none of them fit right and it looked like rubbish.
everythin didnt line up and screw holes wre in wrong places.

made from a totaly different meta aswel and wasnt as strong as genunine parts and they dented easy. And the curves and flares on the gards looked different aswell.

End of the day i had to buy brand new genuine parts for whole front end. whole OEM thing was a wast of money and wast of time and i wont buy anything but genuine subaru panels from now on.

wen i got genuine parts it all lined up perfect and look really great. , on the OEM bonnet is a 2cm gap on one side and 1 cm gap on otherside where the bonnet meets the front fender side panels and the front overlapes the grill. So still looked pretty bad.

yes i do agree you can score som e good OEM parts from other companies but not panels. No way never again, nomatter wtf they claim i will never buy but genuine.

Some companies cliam to sell OEM parts but they just look like them and are really bullshit.
ther are probably som retailers out ther who do sell the proper OEM stuff at cheaper price but i dont think its worth the risk at all.

when you buy genuine you know you are getting a quality part that will ;ast and atleast FIT!,
not worth it at all, buy genuine panels!!!!

You are right, we get orders from many companies who want you to think they are manufacturing their parts when they are actually paying us to do it.

Having read this article and having worked in a well renowned automotive suspension manufacturing plant I can tell you that OEM and Genuine parts are designed the same with only differences in the labeling on the box. However, the particular organization I worked for had higher quality control standards for its Genuine parts that were shipped to manufacturers than the units shipped to wholesale distributors. I do not believe the level of difference makes a fundamental change in the functionality of said part but it does largely impact the price. Of course it is always up to the consumer to decide the level of care they want to purchase.
