All-New 2008 Impreza Photos
This is a Subaru B5 Concept. People talk that All New 2008 Subaru Impreza will look like this concept Subaru. Well, what can I say? What´s that ugly thing on the photos they dare call Subaru Impreza? Legendary rally car? I hope Subaru wont put this ugly car to production.

The Subaru B5-TPH is a stylish coupe/wagon/crossover concept that Subaru stresses is not the next Impreza. Its main focus is not the exterior styling so much as Subaru’s Turbo Parallel Hybrid (TPH) powertrain, which is linked to the company’s trademark symmetrical four-wheel-drive system. That’s a shame, since the B5-TPH is the best-looking vehicle to come out of Subaru’s studios in some time.
TPH places a thin electric motor generator between the car’s 2.0-liter Miller-cycle flat-four turbo engine and the automatic transmission. The Miller-cycle technology, which we last saw in the mid-1990s Mazda Millenia near-luxury sedan, improves engine efficiency by reducing pumping losses due to a power stroke that is longer than the compression stroke. Often, this system makes an engine unresponsive at low speeds, but with the electric motor, Subaru claims, standing-start torque is better than even the turbocharged Impreza WRX’s. The generator also acts as an engine-assist to boost fuel economy. The combined output is 256 hp and 253 lb-ft of torque.
Subaru says while there are no plans to build a car that looks like the B5-TPH (which sits on a modified Legacy platform), some variation of TPH is likely for production, maybe in the Legacy or Forester, by 2007.

I work for Subaru and we had a brief glimse of what the 2008 lineup is going to look like and I know that this is NOT the new Impreza. However, the B9 has gotten a face lift. Gone is the quirky front end and in is a more “rigid” style similiar to the Chrysler lineup.

ugly, ugly, ugly, I love subarus and own an 04 STi, but I gotta say that I have been pissed since the ugly front end came out in 06. They fired the guy that was responsible for that stupid looking design. Good. If they want to commemorate their aircraft heritage with the fusealage and the wings then they should do it via a badge or logo somewhere on the car, not make the front of the car look like a retarded airplane. They should go for a more sports car look to go with the sports car performance. Bring back the 04 - 05 style, just make it sleeker and more aerodynamic. I would buy one if they did that. Of course, I don’t know, I love my 04, it’s style is really becoming classic and has aged well, especially with the 06 model being so ugly.
Just read that Subaru was canceling the Outback Sedan and Legacy Wagon for 2008. Only the Outback Wagaon and Legacy Sedan.
