Subaru To Participate in Nurburgring Enduro With Impreza STI 2008
Subaru have announced that they will be entering their own close-to-stock car in the 36th ADAC Zurich 24 Hour Race, which takes place at the Nurburgring later this month.
Subaru’s entrant will be a relatively standard GRB WRX STI, with a full roll cage, racing brakes, race suspension, stripped interior and modified instrumentation being the only major changes. Petter Solberg tested new WRC Impreza
Former world champion Petter Solberg has driven Subaru’s all-new Impreza WRC2008 for the first time in Sardinia this week, autosport.com can exclusively reveal.
Solberg was unavailable for comment on his first run in the car - codenamed the S14 - but SWRT managing director Richard Taylor confirmed that both Solberg and his teammate Chris Atkinson had completed two days of testing each on the Italian island.

Toyota to nearly double investment in Subaru
Toyoto Motor Corporation reportedly plans to double its stake in Fuji Heavy Industries, the parent company of Subaru. That could mean some changes for Lafayette’s Subaru of Indiana plant. WardsAuto.com associate editor Christie Schweinsberg said Toyota currently has an 8.7% holding in Fuji Heavy Industries. That will reportedly double to about 17 %. Schweinsberg says this potential change could mean that Toyota will increase the number of Camrys they are building in Lafayette, or it could also go the reverse way, and the company could build more Suburu products …

Rear-wheel drive Subaru sports coupe?
The sporty coupe you see in the sketch above was revealed by an inside Subaru source to the good old folks from Autocar mag and it depicts the Japanese carmaker’s forthcoming rear-wheel drive coupe that is being co-developed with Toyota who as you may already know, holds an 8 percent stake in Subaru.
